Who is Nicholas Kioko

Nicholas Kioko is a popular Kenyan YouTuber, content creator, and TV personality. He is among the trending digital news reporters in Kenya, with over 500,000 subscribers on YouTube. He refers to himself as the “senior udaku reporter”
His real name is Nicholas Mbithi Kioko.

Nicholas Kioko was born in Yatta constituency in Machakos County

Kioko’s ancestral home is in the Yatta constituency of Machakos County. He grew up in Machakos before moving to Nairobi with his mother as a teenager.
He is from the Kamba tribe.

Nicholas Kioko is the firstborn in a family of 3 siblings

Nicholas Kioko is the firstborn in a family of three siblings, including two brothers and one sister. Sadly, his brother died in 2020.
He was born on April 15th, 1996 and is 28 years old as of 2024.
His zodiac sign is Aries.

He paid himself college school fees through hawking in Nairobi

Nicholas Kioko began his education at Ting’ang’a Primary School in Machakos and later attended Ngumbulu High School in Yatta Sub-County for secondary education. He studied there in Form One and Two before moving on to Starlight Education Center in Dandora in Form Three. He took his KSCE exam in 2015.
After high school, he attended NIBS Technical College to study journalism.
Nicholas and his mother worked hard to raise his college tuition during his time there.

His mother became a tout, and Kioko began selling sweets and water in Nairobi, eventually extending out into nail polish. This hustle helped him pay for college, but he was always embarrassed about it because he didn’t want his classmates to know what he did. Nicholas graduated from college in 2019.

In an interview Nicholas said he is grateful to his mother, Catherine Kavinya Munyao, for her selfless efforts to provide for their family.

Kioko worked as a beautician, applying nail polish and piercing ears for survival.

Kenyan YouTuber Nicholas Kioko has opened up about his painful past and hustles before fame.
He revealed that after finishing school, he worked as a beautician, applying nail polish and piercing ears to make ends meet.
Kioko revealed that he would wake up as early as 4 a.m. to board matatus and apply nail polish to female commuters. He also stated that he would carry an ear-piercing gun and persuade female travelers to use his services.

He also trained scouts in primary school to make a living.

In 2021, Nicholas saw Mungai Eve’s growth on YouTube and was encouraged, so he began doing interviews and posting videos on his  YouTube channel that was not active before.

Nicholas’ breakthrough moment came after he uploaded a video of Lulu Hassan’s interview with Onsongo Comedy, which received over a million views. In just a few weeks, he grew from 9,000 to 100,000 subscribers.

Nicholas Kioko has worked in Citizen tv as an Intern

After college Kioko managed to get a position in citizen tv as an intern. This exposed him to the media community. He covered a few stories that were trending at that time.

Nicholas is a Father of twins

Nicholas Kioko is the father of two amazing twin boys. On February 8th, 2023, Kioko and his wife Wambo Ashley welcomed their babies Roman and Rommy.

Kioko expressed his joy on social media, thanking God for blessing him twice.

“Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life, twice the smiles & twice the love,” he posted.
